Update re my car, it's better now, had a big airlock in the radiator which meant that there was very, very little water in the radiator so a lucky moment for me and my beetroot face.:D

Best of all the excellent garage mechanic wouldn't charge for sorting it.:T

So in true decent person fashion we'll ask that garage to fix OH's car and send all work their way.;)

tooch - pedometers aren't designed to count every step, they generally only kick in after about half a dozen, so they won't necessarily be accurate for pottering about, only for sustained exercise, which is what counts. Also make sure that you position it on your waistband at the hip. If you attach it to a pocket or on your tummy rather than your hip it won't work (I put mine too close to the centre of my waistband on Saturday and it wasn't counting on the long walk - by the time everyone else has 18000 steps I had about 800!)

methekids&thecat - big hugs. Hope you feel better soon. You've got a lot on and sometimes something has to give. Can you persuade whoever you're seeing tomorrow that your monthly target should be pro-rated to take your holiday into account?

triker - glad your car is sorted and you've found a good, reliable, honest and nice mechanic!

I'm showered, exfoliated, and have covered myself in rosehip oil in the hope that a. my tan will stay and b. I won't get any ingrowing hairs on my legs to cause nasty marks between now and the wedding!

Gym bag all ready to go. I'm going to try to get up a bit earlier than normal tomorrow so that I can get a decent amount of CV done in the gym in case its too hot to do much once I'm home. I've managed to get my step count over 10,000 today, but it's lower than I'd like, so I'll have to make up for it tomorrow.

I've had another freecycle response (who knew someone would want a load of old brass hinges  but hey, it's all contributing to saving the planet!), so slowly but surely the [STRIKE]cr*p[/STRIKE] lovely stuff I no longer need will be disappearing!

Morning All. Early start for me as I have the family coming for the w/e and I've been very lazy in all this heat.:o
Probably need to clean from top to bottom! (Think the entire week's list in one go!) Thought if I started now I'd be through the worst before the heat sets in for the day. DH is snoring upstairs, but I think I'm more likely to disturb the neighbours with the hoover than wake him! Actually, the hoovering is still a couple of hours away - I need to wash the hard floor surfaces first!
Hope you all have a good day!

    Morning lovelies!

Congratulations sexymouse :D:j:T well done! x

Holly what a horrible thing to happen, poor bunny. Enjoy the new ones x

LL Hope all goes well today x

Was hoovering and mopping at 10pm last night trying to get rid of the film of dust that's everywhere, jobs not finished but my throat couldn't take any more, should be (except for the new electrics/skirts etc) done today.

Only one job today as my first lady is in hospital, so easy day work wise, got lots to sort out here though inc. a skip run.

Been on a 1000 calories (ish) diet for almost two weeks now and I'm itching to see how much I've lost but not weighing myself till Monday, I've definitely lost as I can feel it, but would love a Pedometer to see how many steps I take at work everyday - Greenbee can you recommend me a good one please?

We just had a couple of rumbles of thunder Soappie and that was it, not a drop of rain. We had a cool wind for about five minutes then it was straight back to the humidity. When we got to work about ten miles away apparently they had had heavy rain for about 20 minutes but we missed that and it was hot again there!. So I've had to water my pots in the garden again tonight.

We've had nothing overnight except horrid heat and humidity. We have cloud this morning. I feel yuk with the conditions and didn't sleep well at all. I'll have to water the garden once I'm bathed and dressed - I didn't bother last night as I thought it would rain.

    Morning All :hello:

I'm up and relatively awake! It is heaving with rain here  No work today, so I'll attempt a catch up here. It's not trashed, as we've been trying to keep on top of it through the week, but I've a mountain of clothes to sort out and dispatch... not my favourite job in the heat, but oh well, I'll do it naked :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hope everyone's well, and sexym I understand congrats are in order. Well done you, that's really good news.
