proof of postage

twice
hi has anyone else had trouble getting a proof of postage receipt from the post office when i ask for one all i get is a postage receipt with the postcode written on it surely i could send something to my own address and then write a different postcode on the receipt i recently reported something as lost in post and i was told that what i had was not enough to prove i had posted something even though i told them that was all i was given.

When I go to my local PO and ask for proof of posting thats what I get too. Just a receipt with the persons name written on it and postcode. You could always ask for a block of COP forms and fill them in yourself before going to the PO then all they have to do is stamp them.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0

Thats the way they do it! However, there are also slips that you can fill in and the PO will stamp them. Best to collect a couple and fiull it in before going to PO.0

i always use to use certificates of postage but whenever i ask now they never seem to have any well thats what they say it would be much easier if they were kept with all the different forms you can get from a post office0

I've been told by people in two different post offices that the COP are not supposed to be used anymore because they can write the postcode on the receipt now, yet when I asked for a receipt in another post office they gave me a COP. I wish they'd make up their minds!0

I think it depends on the choice of the counter clerk.
There are just two people in my local post office who work different days. It all depends on which one I have. One woman always does the printed receipt, and other always shoves a certificate form under the counter to get me to fill it in. This one is always the grumpy one, who thinks life owes her big time, everything is an effort including giving change!
So I think it is operator preference.0 -
depends on the post office.
I have my local well trained and they print a reciept off for each item. Other post offices i have used just fill out a little form and stamp it which i think is poor."Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0
