Have lost my job.

Well, I was working for a company for 2 and a half years, and was told about a month ago that I was going to be made redundant because the company has ran out of money. I didn't see this coming, and neither did anyone else at my work... I finished working there 3 weeks ago, and was not paid for my last 2 weeks.
I'm guessing that because I'm only 18, there isn't anything I can claim (apart from the dole) which can help me toward repaying for my bad habits. Am I wrong? I hope I am. :O
Please help me with some advice.

Andy, did you get redundancy pay? and why were you not paid for your last 2 weeks? Also how much notice did they give you of your termination? And lastly what was your contractural notice period.
Hopefully I can then advise you more.

I didn't get a bean. Not a sausage. I wasn't paid for my last 2 weeks of work because the company (by its own admission) could not afford to pay any of the people working there. We weren't given any notice of redundancy as such, it was just a case of "go home, we can't afford to pay any of you anymore."
I don't know much about the legality of such things, I will admit...0 -
Well Andy you need to ring ACAS, they cannot get away with not paying you
A. for the work you did
B. your redundancy money which should be 2 years = 2 x half weeks pay
C. your contracted notice payment.
Did everyone in the company get sent home. Have they closed the company down. They did not comply with any redundancy laws and if they are still trading they will get whats coming to them. If they are closed down/gone bust you can claim redundancy money etc.from the government. I am really surprised that someone even your parents have not guided you in this. I feel for you but just do what i say and I'm sure others will come along and help so dont worry you should get whats coming to you (in the nicest possible way of course) keep posting
#make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
