Faulty product, no receipt, can I exchange?

I bought a ceiling fan from B&Q, but it doesn't work when switched on. I have lost the receipt, can I use a bank statement as proof of purchase, even though I bought other items at the same time?

Yes, you only have to provide proof of purchase (not the receipt)
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Thank you, I wasn't sure if it mattered that the amount debited from my bank was more than the cost of the item.
