My daughter would like to visit some friends in Sidney over the Christmas period, flights seem to be around the £1100 mark, does anyone know of the best sites to visit to get better prices?
Thanks for your help :T

I assume we are talking Sydney, Australia, which often needs a stopover and a hotel, the best deals are often through travel agents where you do a flight+hotel deal, have a look at https://www.trailfinders.com you only need to do one night in the hotel to get the deal.
BTW Emirates are doing lots of flights via Dubai to Australia, they fly from many Uk airports to Dubai DXBPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Oops sorry about the spelling!0

I agree on Emirates as they don't shoot prices up at X-mas and New Year like BA/Quantas. We are flying to Perth, WA on 30/12 and Emirates were by far the cheapest and trailfinders offered a good deal.0

Also I find with Emirates their standard class is alot better than other airlines...0

Unfortunately Emirates are quoting £1749.00, but thanks for the advice

Have you had quotes for a one night flight+hotel deal?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

If she is flexible on dates phone trailfinders (or other similar travel agent) rather than relying on the emirates website (i checked there first but booked through an agent) as some flights will have a select amount of cheaper seats and the agent can see them on a screen. By being flexible with dates of even one or two days she may get a much cheaper flight. that's what we did. The flights for the previous day were much higher. Worth a phone call.0

Exactly, agents are very good at pairing up cheap flights to make a good package, well worth calling them.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

We arrive on the 30th after Xmas in Melbourne. By "we" I mean several thousand. Should be buzzing!0

I would advise STA Travel, they are a company which tailor for young people in particular. They could get you a good quote on flights and accommodation and you can buy discount cards for young people for activities, meal vouchers and things and they will help her with suitable travel insurance etc...
Could take some of the worry out of it for you, plus don't forget although I would always advise getting good insurance, your daugther would be covered for emergency medical treatment in Oz for free, just as aussies would be covered here.0
