Cheap Decent Festival Tent

I am so confused on what tent to purchased, having read so many reviews.

Basically I need a tent to go to a festival. The tent must be:

- atleast a 1 person tent, but 2 would be prefered.
- water tight(reviews i had read on asda tents suggest it isn't)
- cost no more than 15.00
- available to purchase a store so that I can see what I am dealing with.

Many thanks

I was going to suggest a decathlon tent, excellent value for money.
I would suggest that with such a small budget, you start looking at boot fairs.
    Makes to look out for,
Vango, Quecha, Kyham, gelert, lichfield, royal, sunncamp, outwell, to name just a few of the decent tents.
You could also look in halfords,

for £15 you arent going to get a waterproof tent. More like a play tent, that would be showerproof - Laying under a tarpaulin would give you better protection for the money

Really you need to be budgeting at least treble what you are planning, if you want to be really dry, and have a usable tent

But if its only for one festival, then the supermarket ones are fine. Use it then just throw it in the bin afterwards (most tents get trashed at festivals anyway)

    Just pray for dry weather

I am going to pray for the dry weather then. Its a festival in Germany at the end of July so will hopefully be dry.

    Thanks

Umm, don't mean to rain on your parade- but the wettest I've ever seen anywhere was the black forest in August!

The two 2000HH rated tents we had with us stood up to it though,

    I think this:

Or this will be the closest you'll get for your budget

Dont know much about tents but cant you buy a waterproofing spray? Wouldn't that be ok to spray onto a cheap tent just for a bit extra to make sure?

waterproofing spray would cost about £20, so its prob best to put your money towards a better tent

Are you anywhere near a Decathlon store? Their smallest tent is £19.95, its a pop up, is double skinned (v. important!) and are very good. Only prob is they don't have too many stores around and don't do mail order :(
I've got their 4 man pop up, but I'm going alone to a festival later this summer so I'm thinking of getting one of the smaller ones too just because it'll be smaller and lighter.

Be careful when buying a tent, if you get a single layer tent they tend to get a bit damp due to the condensation.
I would only buy a double layer tent, but you should be able to get these at not a lot more than a single layer one.
These 2 are slightly over your budget but are the cheapest I could find with a double layer.
2 man dual layer tent - tesco direct £19.99 now £14.99
Not sure on the p&p charges for tesco.

Ukayed Navy Blue 4 Person Double Skinned Igloo Camping Tent - Amazon £19.99 plus p&p
