Bidup TV Scam

Been receiving phonecalls from bidup tv recently - 0870 1666667
each going along the following lines
"placed order with our company yesterday just need you to confirm order and provide credit card details"
advised that we have never ordered anything from bidup tv
they refused to take this and advised that it must have been my partner
said no and the time they gave for the order we were all out at a family party anyway
they refused to believe this and stated that its an automated system and therefore they know it was someone on this number that placed the order?
asked for the number they rang...which they gave...and is completely different to ours
anyone else been experiencing this?

Looks like problems with an automated dialing service0 -
So you rang an 0870 number and they kept you on the line for a while...0

Be glad they didn't call you at 1am...

An airhorn can be quite effective and fun. Just make sure its them and not the mother-in-law first.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Or, if you get a human at the other end, threaten them with being blasted by an ion cannon... Worked for me with some dumb company who kept calling me
But seriously, if you can afford to try this: unplug your phone for half an hour. The exchange will kick into a self-test mode on your line, and if they call during that time, they won't get through (with a bit of luck, they'll only get voicemail, and we all know how much these companies love leaving messages on voicemail)...0 -
Just set up the ansafone to kick in after 1 ring, and tell all your family and friends that you screen all calls and will pick up the phone as soon as you hear them speak.
In the last 10 years not one marketing call has left a message, they all just ring off.0
