aol 'loyalty' bonus

I've been an aol customer for about 6 years - originally chose them because of young children and liked the parental controls but just recently been thinking of changing - my 'gold' connection was recently upgraded to 2 mbps and, as 1 mbps had always seemed sufficient I decided to downgrade to silver which is now 1 mbps - and £7 pm cheaper at £18 - the friendly chap tried to persuade me that my wireless worker would not work at 1 meg but I stuck to my guns and he then informed me that as a long term customer he would retain my account on 'gold' but reduce the price to £20 for at least the next 12 months - seems like a good compromise to me for no loss of speed - so its a £60 (yearly) saving for 5 minutes work - happy days, and I used the phone number provided by justsayno.com. Thanks to this forum for prompting me to investigate in the first place!

I am with AOL and have been for a few years. I am on the Gold package getting it for 19.99 a month, however I dont feel now that that is a good deal. I wondered about changing to tiscali but it seems many people on here would not recommend them. I want to reduce my monthly payments down as I believe I am paying too much does anyone have any suggestions ?

    Thanks

No suggestions, I would stick with them, its all very well these other companys offering exciting offers, but do they really maintain a efficent service.Just give them a ring and try and get them to offer you a deal. its worth a try

I am on the Silver Package for £9.99/month for 2 years. I have been with AOL for years which was why (according to AOL) I was offered such a good price. Best they could offer (so they said) my parents (relatively new to AOL) was £15.99 for Silver Pavckage - still better than the £20 you're paying now - could be worth another phone call.
