I think in the main most people prefer lounges on the ground floor. I remember trying to sell one of these when I was an estate agent and although it was faultless inside, no one liked the kitchen being seperate from the lounge, especially when they have kids. And people with kids were the people veiwing this house.
Im minded to agree with her though about the cleaning. If she feels like its goingto be too mcuh then it probably is and you cant be cleaning all the time . We probalby clean here about 4 hours a day, the house just needs it.
One of my friends also said that there might be problems with the water supply (as the bathroom is on the third floor).
The dining room is next to the kitchen though and is a sizeable 4m x 2.5m:rolleyes: Links are a man's best friends.com0 -

As far as I can see, the one I had consider was a few decades old. Links are a man's best friends.com0 -
My friend bought a newly developed town house about 18 months ago- it was the poorest constructed house I have ever seen. She wasn't happy!0

I've lived in a terraced (end-of, Edwardian) house and a townhouse - like this one. Is that what you mean by a Townhouse?

Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
I'd prefer a terrace. Townhouses are often higgledy piggledy messes that dont look very nice.
Kitchen-diner and a lounge on the same floor are preferrable to most.Squish0 -
My friend has a TH built in the last 15 years.
The rooms are bigger in her house that mine.
So you get decent sized bedrooms - ie the 3rd bedroom isnt < 2x2m.
Yes, the kitchen is on the bottom floor, but so is the dining room.
Her problem was the sofa fitting up the stairs when they bought a new one!
I would happily buy a TH, but they are around 50k more expensive than an equivalent SD house. So way over budget!0
