How much should I pay to get my Jewellery valued, We have a number of pieces that we have has comissioned for our wedding, honeymoon and anniversary gifts, therefore I think it sensiable that we have these valued in case we need to make a insurance claim.
Therefore what is a resonable charge for someone to look at our items?

It is very sensible to get your jewellery valued, a decent valluer will also take digital pictures of the jewellery which are very helpful to the police and for you if you want replacements manufacturered.
I think from memory the going rate is between 1% and 2% of the value of the jewellery (Plus Vat). The price can depend on the value of the jewellery.
It would be worth speaking to your Insurers as they may have a discount with a jewellery valuer or they may only recognise valuations from members of certain organisations.
If you have large / expensive diamonds it can be worth getting the settings checked at regular intervals0
