Missing Files from XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 - Where to get them?

Hi

Hoping that someone can help me, we keep getting messages about windows updates not completing on our computer as it says that we are missing files from our windows xp home edition service pack 3, I don't seem to have a disc for that, although our computer is nearly 3 years old, so could have lost it. I have googled it and found a link to download it on the microsoft website but it doesn't work, we get to the download bit and then it just shows a blank page and says done in the left hand corner. We bought a new printer today and can't install it as it also says that there are files missing from the service pack 3.. Please could someone tell me where I can dowload it and what to do as we must have it already incomplete on our system

You can download SP3 as a complete file from here:

Choose "External Mirror 1 - Network Installation Package for IT Professionals and Developers [EXE]"

It isn't clear if it is a problem with the pre-SP3 files or the SP3 files.

Try that first and see how you get on

Thank you, it seems to have worked, after using that download it allowed me to install the new printer. Daughter now happy she can print her homework!
