I wonder if they ever stopped to think what an awful name "Currys" actually is.
As far as business names go, it's sickeningly poor. Even "Some Old Fat Bloke & Sons" or "ABC Electronics" would've been better. "Currys" is just plain awful...0 -
The business model isnt on dubbleing prices but selling unneeded insurance polices and accessories - for example scart leads start at £7 for the same ones in the pound shop
I was in Currys in Lancaster yesterday (don't worry, I had a shower afterwards) because they were, astoundingly, the cheapest place to get the new home phone I was after. And yes, I was offered some kind of extended warranty for it for £20. When I said "no thanks" the guy then offered it to me for a tenner instead! I said no and spent the next few minutes how desperate they must be...
I do my best to avoid Dixons/Currys anyway, so this ain't no big loss to me.0 -
I must admit I went to currys yesterday too
I tried to get a refund on a faulty digibox, but their policy would not allow it. I argued that that was not complient with my consumer rights, but re-reading them maybe it is, i dunno.
Sales assistant was up for a right argument though. Another reason not to go to currys, ever. Even if they are cheaper.0
