Doess carers allowence reduce housing benefit?

Hi all,
Quick question. I'm on SSP, g/f is on ESA -contributions based & has DLA mobility at lower rate & care at middle rate. We have a claim in for housing benefit (nothing paid out yet)...I've applied for carers allowence. If/when granted will this reduce ammount of housing benefit/Council Tax Benefit that we both receive??

bumpety bump! Also does anyone know about this 'carers premium'?? Would I get all of that or would some be deducted from housing benefit? Would it be backdated to the same start date as the carers allowence?
