Have followed some advice on here re lost internet connection but now have even greater issues with pc.
I am trying to reconnect my nroadband connection via ethernet cable to the pc but there is now no LAN connection within network connections. I am unable to reset to an earlier restore point as they have all been lost.
How do i restore the LAN connection as a starting point? I guess I need to relaod the router connection via ethernet cable & then will need to reload internet exVlorer (as this was the original connection issue-unable to display page) & then reload the wireless adapter connection?

As a start I would set your router back to factory default, then use your software disk that came with your router and go that way with the ethernet cable and work from there!0

If your router is also the ADSL modem, you should never set your router back to default - unless you have all the details to set it up again, eg login name for your ISP with password.
2 obvious things to check, does the network device show in your system, and are you plugging the cable into the correct ports.0 -
there is no issue with the router as our lap tops work through it. The desktop is not picking up any network connection when you check under network connections.0
