Car Insurance on other persons contract car?

Wonder if you can help

Im trying to work out if the following situation is possible.

I've got a bad credit file and Im considering whther it would be possible for a family member to take out a standard contract hire car in their name and then I take out a fully comp insurance policy on the car and drive it myself

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Why don't you get added on as a named driver on to the contract?

ah right can you do that ?
thing is my family member wants one too
so would the contract company be alright when family members says "id like 2 cars please, one for myself exclusivly and another for me and a family member named?"

And how would insurance work if i was a named driver on the contract?

When I've hired cars on holiday before, we have certainly had two drivers on it.
This happens all the time when couples/families go on holiday.
It's very common that couples want to share the driving.

Are you talking about just hiring a car that you give back or is it some form of hire purchase?

two year contract hire (not pcp) so hire for two years. hand car back after. Fixed monthly payment rental
