Barclays monthly saver rate drop

My wife opened a monthly saver yesterday (sat) and was told that the 6% was dropping, I think as soon as the middle of next week. She said we were just in time. So if your thinking of opening one you better be quick as she said the rates were dropping to 4%.

Well, you can't apply online anymore (I opened one a week ago online and my wife had to open hers yesterday over the phone).

I have a question about this account. Is it possible to deposit in the begining £2725 and then £25 per month? in this way the £2725 get the full 6% rate.

The only way to do that is to put the savings into another account and drip-feed the savings at £250 a month. Yorkshire BS internet saver was the one usually mentioned, but rate increases from IF and Leeds BS have overtaken it- still a good rate mind you.
