Card for 1 time use

Dreamhost are a website hosting company and allow you to get discounts by using existing customers promo codes

I wanted to sign up for 2 accounts using 2 slightly different promo codes but if using a code they only allow you to use a credit card and it cant have been used before

All I have is a debit card - can I get another credit card that I can just use once and then pay off straight away and then cancel/leave expire

will this affect my credit rating?

Why are you so afraid of credit cards? You can save money and get extra protection by using them for purchases . If you pay balance in full and on time you don't pay any interest. And if you don't have CCs, getting one can only improve your credit rating if you use it wisely: don't go over limit and make payments on time.

If you don't have any other form of credit and your credit files are (almost) empty, it is usually advised to approach the bank you have the current account with for your first CC.
