my daughter has her eyes set on an acer laptop costing around £400 ,,r acer decent laptops,,it has 3 mb of ram 160gb hard drive,fitted webcam etc,,spec seems ok just wondering about the quality of acer

Acer have good reputation for high spec machines that are affordable.0

Hi, I bought Acer Laptop about 2 wks ago - Its Aspire 5735Z so far its good. No complaints.

The one thing i will say , This isn't just Acer tho , Is that they promote these laptops with "fingerprint reader" for " extra security" don't buy a laptop because you think this is advantage. They can be more hassel then there worh. if its got it then fair do's but dont think of it as a extra feature or advantage

Yer. well i could not connect to my computer via Remote Desktop on this laptop (with FPR) but the without FPR would. I found out that when Remote Desktop Connection asks for the password of the computer it freezes because the FPR has priorty of the Password control even if you type the password in. Had my old Acer aspire since 2005 and my newer one since 2007 and both are still going strong.0
