Hi,
I'm taking a holiday in Burnham On Sea, with my Husband and son (2 1/2yrs old) the first week on May. Can anyone recommend any places worth visiting, or any nice places to eat that do not cost the earth. Any info would really be lovely. Thanks in advance.

A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D

I used to go there when I was a kid. Unfortunately that was 40 years ago so I doubt I can come up with much.
I remember being able to see the sea on occasions although at other times it seemed to have gone on a day trip to Wales.
Good places to visit include Glastonbury and Wells; perhaps even Longleat. And nothing beats a nice picnic or fish & chips on the seafront if the weather's nice
Can I help?0 -
Cheddar Gorge is a must-see (but I'm biased because that's where I live)
Take the train into Bristol or Bath from nearby Highbridge station, both are short journeys.
Although the tide goes out a long way and the water is murky because the Bristol channel is an estuary, the beaches are superb - especially if you go to Berrow (just a couple of miles north of Burnham) which has great sand dunes.
Eating - I can recommend Forte's Ice Cream Parlour in Burnham and in Cheddar. This is owned by the Forte family who later went on to found the famous hotel empire. The ice cream is hand made and is superb. The food is pretty good as well.
Enjoy your trip.
