A few ideas to start you off

if you have carrot and swede you can cook them up, make up the smash, mash them all together with a bit of butter and cheese if you like and use it as a savoury topping.

If bread making, put a tablespoon of smash in your warm liquid

    potato scones/farls

Hugh F W had a recipe on the new series for potato cake - proper sweet cake but made with potato - looked good.

our favourite at home is potato pizzas

Make up the smash quite thick - layer on baking tray and cook in oven till crispy (make sure thin) - top with passatta and cheese - CHEAP CHEERFUL AND lovely with beans :)

As ubamother said, on river cottage the other week there was a recipe for lemon drizzle cake using left over mashed potato instead of flour, which looked lovely,
I was going to try and make something similar for my nephew who is coeliac.
  • Make it up add flour and you have a potato pastry to put on top of any meat dish.
    Or:
    Add cheese for cheese mash
Some nice caramelised onion for onion mash
use with a tin of tuna to make fish cakes
    HTH
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

My Gran once tried to make Smash but added far too much water (no measuring jug at the rented holiday home she was staying in). Rather than bin it she made a sort of leek and potato soup.

No idea what it was like tho!
