The Mother-in-law gave us a bag of smash ,I cant stand the stuff bleeuurg !
But its gluten free so at least I can eat it so it there anything fun and interesting you can do with smash ( hopefully still Gluten free )

A few ideas to start you off
if you have carrot and swede you can cook them up, make up the smash, mash them all together with a bit of butter and cheese if you like and use it as a savoury topping.
If bread making, put a tablespoon of smash in your warm liquid
potato scones/farls

A recipe i have tried before, but can't remember the exact amounts of ingredients...sorry.
Kinda Onion bhargi's
make up mash
fry onions
add onions to mash and add curry powers and add an egg
Mix all together and the make balls, pop in the oven and cook until slightly golden.0 -
our favourite at home is potato pizzas
Make up the smash quite thick - layer on baking tray and cook in oven till crispy (make sure thin) - top with passatta and cheese - CHEAP CHEERFUL AND lovely with beansDFW since JAN 2009 - 2014 will be the year i finally clear debtsJust to see which month

As ubamother said, on river cottage the other week there was a recipe for lemon drizzle cake using left over mashed potato instead of flour, which looked lovely,
I was going to try and make something similar for my nephew who is coeliac.0 -
Make it up add flour and you have a potato pastry to put on top of any meat dish.
Or:
Add cheese for cheese mash
Some nice caramelised onion for onion mash
use with a tin of tuna to make fish cakes

My Gran once tried to make Smash but added far too much water (no measuring jug at the rented holiday home she was staying in). Rather than bin it she made a sort of leek and potato soup.
No idea what it was like tho!:wave:0
