Switching Supplier: What happens to my credit?

Hi,

I am currently with Scottish Power for both electricity and gas and I am just about to swicth to London Energy as they appear to offer the best savings according to the price comparison sites.

I believe that when I switch I do not need to contact Scottish Power as they will be handled automatically. However I am on direct debit with Scottish Power and over £100 in credit. How do I get this back?

Scottish Power should send you a final statement a few weeks after you switch supplier (often takes a week or so for the readings to be passed from one supplier to another). You should then receive a refund with or shortly after the statement arives dependant on how the company arranges refunds
