first time I've had a coupon refused for a long time...had hubbys name on it...forgot it was in the pile I'd handed over...got rinse aid again as it had £3 moc on..used all mocs to pay and 45p cash against £15+ shop....SA said she's been told to be very careful with names on mocs as people are photocopying and selling them on ebay, they had caught a man using self-scan swiping mocs and putting blank pieces of paper in the slot...had his clubcard taken off him/banned from getting another and banned from the store...

Yikes!!! People like this ruin it for all (obviously bloke not bullshot!) - I've only just started coupons at T's and am sooo nervous and extra careful - but haven't been in since I've read msgs about stores restricting to 10% - Hope mine doesn't or its gonna ruin my budget

Julie you can only keep going until they stop it. My store was brilliant but now has a max 6 MOC limit but I still visit, just means I keep my shops low & visit very regularly. Only way you'll know for sure is to do a shop.

I shopped occasionally in T BEFORE I knew about MOC so without them I could quite happily skip back to Asda.

They started this at my T ages ago due to abuse and I posted on here at the time to warn peeps as T do not find it amusing when 'mickey mouse names' are used they find it suspicious I was told that people were photocopying and then swapping coupons hence differrent names.I am always asked if the name on the coupon is mine and I make sure that it is otherwise it looks suspicious to T. It looks as if other T's are following suit.
Dont take it personally Neas it is just T being cautious and I presume that is why the security guard was called as if you had not given an explanation that the manager was satisfied with they would have probably called the police as I have seen them do at my T or even banned you for life

Am not going there again anywaysm, it was always a pain in bum to go there imo.

I think they key things to learn from stores clamping down ar as follows:

    1. Never even try to use any coupon where tesco don't stock the product.
2 Perhpas try to obtain a good variety of coupons so they don't get overloaded with one particular type.

I think the clubcard points will stop collecting for this quarter at the end of this month and we should be getting them sometime in August.

I think. Don't hold me to it :)

  • after several years of full coupon acceptance as per their national policy my Tesco have stopped taking any internet coupons, (couponnet and pdf style ones). For the few weeks in the run up to this decision comments have been made about the names on some of them (my sister donated them to me!) and yesterday my favourite SA showed me the message that showed up on his screen "We no longer accept internet coupons, if in any doubt please call a supervisor".

    Gutted!

Having said that they are happy to take originals and not overly picky on double-ups.

Sadly the minority have yet again spoiled it for all.

This has really made a dent in my budget and I am now weighing up my options (another Tesco a bit further (2 miles) will accept them as will my Waitrose and my home town is planning to open a new Waitrose in August.

Just a post so that more people can be aware that even good tescos who know the policy inside and were happy to take all coupons are reconsidering.
