Finally got a response to the letter I sent to my local T's Store Manager a couple of weeks ago, agreeing that the letter on the first page is the correct national policy :jand he's going to make sure the cashiers are up to speed. I'm so optimistic I just know I'm going to get severely trouted tomorrow..... :o
Thanks Coupon-mad for all the advice you patiently keep repeating (I drafted the letter back in January but preferred to stay under the radar until one too many 'only one coupon' visits got me sufficiently annoyed to write).
    Wish me luck!

Beware people using random names with couponnet vouchers.

I recently typed in a load of mickey mouse names for couponnet coupons (had about 4-5 diff names in my 'wad').

Today I gave coupons in as i normally do, SA pushed button, i figured he wanted to confirm rule or something, then pops along Checjout Supervisor who says.. unless you have ID i cant take coupons.

I replied "Ok thats fine no problems just take the ones you can and I will fill correct name next time"

You;d have thought it'd ended there... but along pops security guard (dunno why I wasnt violent nor stealing anything lol).

He starts interrogating me infront of other people there:

" How many times have you come here?"
"I seen you here on saturday"
"You been targetting SAs" (Wish i'd have told him cause they only SAs who know policy correctly lol)

Then the security guard grabs the coupons... goes off to get Manager and Manager comes along again.. and says exactly same thing as Checkout Supervisor:

I tried to record it but mustve put record back off.

I feel pretty !!!!!! tbh as the securit guard had no reason to be there, call manager or interrogate me infron of other customers.

I think i got uber-trouted by SA, Checkout Supervisor, Secuity guard and manager all in one.... I win for being trouted lol.
  • well I've just had my best ever shop.
My tesco have got loads of new young sa, they were all being trained last week.
Went to sa and before unloading my shopping I said "do you know the coupon policy" thought best to be blunt, his reply "he said yes they were told when being trained, all coupons as long as they're in date, all different, & internets in colour"
Great got £97 down to £11 (with £15 double up to £30)
september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
    march wins - dog treats

I think you've been very lucky to have got away with false names in the past...mine have always been checked and I did have trouble with ones that had 'personalised coupon' or 'couponnet.co.uk' where name usually is...took me a while to get them to take those...and even now they can cause some grief whilst I get it sorted....

Posted by Gaia in main thread (Discount Codes 'n Vouchers) but some of us might not notice!! (Reps to them please)

    http://www.newscientist.com/projects/forms/coupon09

We are delighted to offer UK customers the chance to save £1 off any issue of New Scientist magazine in July 2009

Simply enter your details, print the voucher and hand it over, with your issue, at the till. Then, enjoy your copy of New Scientist.

Takes name and email then sends you to couponnet!! (Sorry for those that are still blocked )

Prints 2 (Didn't try any more!) Valid 1-31 July :j:j:j:j

    Stocked by Tesco :D:D:D:D

thanks i am still blocked by couponnet but i have been doing the following when new coupons become available
fill in your details, then go to install coupon printer click cancel when the box pops up asking you to run the program. then underneath the download instructions there is a provide feedback on the install process
click on that, then select "i could not install the coupon printer" fill in your postal details then submit.
I have tried this with the whiskas, purina, and a few others and they don't seem to have a problem posting them to me, so could be worth a go for the high value MOCs

Hi Sandancer - first of all commiserations at your lousy dealings with Mr T - but don't be entirely downhearted. This 10% stuff has happened to me and someone I know that shops at Mr T and we have both had this.
What I would say is if you feel too rotten after all this leave it a couple of days and then go straight back in and try again. It seems to depend what day/sa/or whether they got out the wrong side of bed as to what the policy is for that day!! Try to do some small shops - that is what I have done - and see how it goes. If all else fails is there another T you could visit?

While i have been lucky to get away with false names, its the way I was treated i feel a bit !!!!!! about and wish my phone had recorded it.

No way can a crudy security guard do what he did. He doesn't have the brains to understand law.
