If it was me, I would agree with this, but I know of two lots of siblings in their early twenties that still share a room on holiday. Nothing wrong with it, just down to personal preference.

I stopped sharing a room on holiday with my brother when I was ten ... he used to talk in his sleep ... scared the life out of me! :p

I would be scared of holidaying in Hull now though (then again, I'm scared of Hull full stop) ... would the overcrowding police come and get you? :o
    Gone ... or have I?

Do you think it's acceptable for a 15 year old girl and 17 year old boy, both brother and sister, to share a hotel room to keep the cost down.

Just wanted your opinions, ta v much
Are we talking hotel room rather than a bedroom in an apartment?

If it is a hotel, then it's up the discretion of the hotel by and large.
The a lot of hotels will not let a room where there isn't someone of the age of 18 staying in the room. They wouldn't have a problem with them being brother and sister sharing a twin room as it isn't their full time place of residence, but the age thing may be an issue.

    Acceptable to WHOM ?

If you as a family are happy with it-it's acceptable-if one or both of the kids aren't -then it isn't.

The hotel policy is a non issue-if they make a fuss (which they won't) you just tell them it's an adult in each room with a minor.

To keep the cost down , yes of course it's OK. We've had siblings sharing a room. We've also had a girls room and a boys room with my husband and I not sleeping in the same room - (only one night - on a sleeper train abroad). We've had our twenty year old share a room with us. It is of course all down to finances and how much grief you get or are prepared to put up with, but I really think for a holiday it's fine. Lets face it when they are students at uni how many people would they try to get away with sleeping in a travel lodge or tent to keep costs down?!

I'd say it's fine if the children are happy. Me perosnally would have hated it as I was very self couscious about my body etc. as a teen and unlike both my sisters and brother who thought nothing of wandering around upstairs in undies I always had my dressing gown on:o

In my experience some different cultures don't see it as acceptable as we do.

I've had 'issues' (albeit very minor ones) in Turkey where they thought my ex-girlfriend was my sister (not an ex-girlfriend at the time coz that would be weird :rotfl:). :undecided

I think anyone who thinks there is something wrong with it is the one with issues.

Its perfectly fine, normal, acceptable and i really don't see why you want want clarification.
