Is it worth paying for a Hansgrohe or equivalent tap for my bathroom sink?
Could I just get one from Wickes or Homebase and expect the same from it do you think?

if you can afford the little extra then get a hansgrohe....These are some of the best taps on the market and are affordable by all
Other named brands are Bristan and crosswaterHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0 -
Hansgrohe are very good, but personally cant justify that sort of price.
For good taps at a good price, would recommend Bristan0 -
Try ebay (private sellers are usually best), I have just bought a set of Pegler taps (brand new and boxed) for my utility room for £9.50! Price on their website was £170!! - And yes they are genuine, I have just finished fitting them and they work a treat and look great.

I'd agree with Ebay, I sourced a tap I liked then searched for it on Ebay and paid less than half the price with free delivery.0

what do you get from an expensive brand name tap that you don't get from an own brand? I just wonder because the taps in my bathroom have a definite look of bottom of the range basic and from the amount of limescale I inherited them with have presumbly been there a fair while - they're not pretty but they work fine - turn on, turn off - what am i missing out on?0

Hi
If you don't have mains pressure (on both hot and cold) they won't work very well at all.
Any manufacturer producing thousands/millions of items will have a percentage of failures. Hansgrohe is one of the better ones ,so the failure rate should be reduced. If it does fail spares will be readily available.
We have a Crosswater tap on the bath (pair) the cold one drips
