Hi,

I will apologise in advance for being a bit dim but I need a bit of advise. My son has just got an Ipod Touch for his birthday. It seems he needs wi fi to use it. I have no idea how to get this application/use it or the cost, could anyone please point me in the right direction. My son is 13 today and is really stressed:mad: that he cannot use it and quite frankly I am no help at all as I have not got a clue.

Many thanks in advance.

Ok, i should have reworded that better. Do you have a wireless router/modem which enables a wireless connection to that router/modem/Sky broadband?

If you're still confused here's an explanation: http://www.bbc.co.uk/webwise/askbruce/articles/connect/wifi_1.shtml

In order to use Wi-Fi on the iPod touch there needs to be a wireless signal in the area in order for it to connect.

There is a box with an antennae so I am assuming this is what you mean. How do I know if there is a wireless connection in my area?

    Many thanks

Ok, then you should have a wireless connection in your house.

On the ipod touch, if your son goes to the settings and turns on wi-fi, it will list the available connections.

Select the one which is yours & he'll be prompted to input the username and password you use to log onto your Sky broadband.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your time and patience, we have managed to do it by putting the password from the sky box. I have a happy son! x
