Darling 'may strip Bank of powers'

Is that entirely bad?
Surely you agree that everyone deserves a fair chance to improve their lot in life and that redistribution of wealth (through progressive taxes) for the provision of education (for example) is the best way to do this.
We have seen what capitalism does in the US... 45M without health insurance. Hardly an example of a model to be followed.
I didn't say it was bad, merely that it was.
My opinion is that all socialism is very expensive and so you need to chose it with care. Some sort of socialist medicine is probably a good thing, the NHS however is cumbersome, expensive and inefficient.
Likewise, some provision for single mothers is a good idea. Providing for them indefinitely is not.0 -

I wonder if the NHS will go the same as the university fees? You have to have resided in the UK or EU for the 3 years preceding the start of university, or you have to pay the international fees. No exceptions, even if you hold a British passport.
Perhaps council houses should only be available until the youngest child leaves education or reaches 18? Then out, for another young family. Maybe even limit the number of children people can claim for?RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

If you mean the government, then yes, they should be stripped of some of their power.
But the central banks' ability to issue and control our nation's money supply is THE number one power that needs to be taken away if we are to achieve a sustainable and equitable economy and society."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

Even as a paranoid, conspiracy theorist you might have an interesting suggestion as to where these powers could be best placed :D
quite simply..........
We have a situation where the government borrows money from a private institution, spends it into the economy and then taxes us to pay interest on the money which did not exist in the first place.
So, who is in charge?
The people who issue the money from thin air?
Or the people that borrow this make believe money?
Don't take my word for it................. this is from the man who, one could argue, first conceived the system............
"Give me control of a nation's money and I care not who makes the laws."

I guess Rothschild knew that if you were a rich man, one had the means not to fall foul of a country's laws. Not sure though that if all the public through their elected gov't created and issued money, they could happily not care about laws. Gov'ts have an unhappy habit of ignoring anything other than the immediate short term when elections are pending.0

I think you have misunderstood.
It is not about being rich. It is about actually issuing the money.
Try this one........................
"Banking was conceived in iniquity and was born in sin.
The Bankers own the earth. Take it away from them,
but leave them the power to create deposits,
and with the flick of the pen they will
create enough deposits to buy it back again.
However, take it away from them, and
all the great fortunes like mine
will disappear and they ought to disappear, for
this would be a happier and better world to live in.
But, if you wish to remain the slaves of Bankers
and pay the cost of your own slavery,
let them continue to create deposits."
and that is from the governor of the bank of england"The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -
