hi

I was putting some old CDs onto my itunes when I came accross one of photos, which I loaded onto the Pc.

When I have now gone back to carry on uploading the CDs its not recognising that there is a CD in the drive. I have even tried the ones that I have already used on it this morning, but it doesn't even recognise them!

Could it be something to do with Photo CD being from Argentina? Has it messed up the regions or something daft?

I have checked on device manager, which says that it is working fine, and that the driver is upto date.

Any help please? As you can tell I'm not very techie!

What have you installed since the last time that this worked? As in all likelihood, if you can remember back. It's due to some program or other. For instance have you installed any Games on the computer in question that may have securom or similar protection schemes built in?

The above assumes that the disks are not too badly scratched and are relatively clean of course, or that the drive itself is capable of playing the disks, the lense of the player is not covered in dust\fluff etc :)

It could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.

  • Problem solved, the good old fashioned turn everything off and reboot has worked!
