You're a day out I'm afraid.[You can generally draw funds from a cheque paid in the day after the third bank working day (so paid in monday available thursday)
Day 0 (Mon).........cheque paid in
Day 0+2 (Wed).....cheque value starts earning interest (simultaneous debit on source account)
Day 0+4 (Fri).......cheque clears
Day 0+6 (Tues)....cheque 'cleared for fate'
Google "2-4-6", or check out the APACS website.0 -
I suppose if you really want to get it done by Thursday, you could always simply just withdraw cash and pay it in over the counter at Lloyds. It'll clear the same day you pay it in and you won't have to pay any fees.If you need the payment to be cleared on Thursday - and definitely cleared on Thursday - suck it up and pay for CHAPS. By the sounds of it, this is a property transaction? Just pay the £20 and get it done.
(Oops, i've just realised that we are talking a good few £k here so probably not the best idea ... )0
