The lower leaves on my potato plants are yellowing with brown patches - I am trying to post a picture but it doesn't seem to be working!
It seems a little early for blight and I did plant the tubers very close together.

Any ideas?
Thanks

I don't think it's blight. It's probably just the older leaves. Pull them off and bin them. Don't compost them just in case it is blight or something like that.
What kind of potatoes are they ? Earlies, salad, lates ? It may also just be a sign that they are ready to harvest if the plant is dying off.0 -
Thanks, Jabba - they are earlies and second earlies - but leaves on the maincrop are just starting to grow yellow as well. Will do as you suggest!0

At the first photo I agreed with Jabba, the 2nd worries me a bit, those dead bits don't look good.
Do as Jabba says and take them all off, watch the remaining leaves like a hawk, it will be obvious if it is blight over the next couple of days, because the rest will die off fast.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
some of my spuds in a pot looked like that - I dug them up y/day and no crop, hope this isn't the case for spuds.
Lovely pink peony too:)0 -
Some of mine looked like that but having had a 'firkle' I came home with lots of lovely spuds. It's my earlies and 2nd earlies that have leaves looking like this (Red Duke of York and Vivaldi) but there's a few of my Charlotte's like this too. Mine are at an allotment, I've seen a few othes looking like this but I'm concerned about them being in the vicinity of my tomato plants as I really don't want to lose them to blight.........makes note to self to get blight resistant everything next year!
