Has anyone had trouble with Monarch Airlines?
I have had to book a couple of flghts in the past month, each time they have come up cheapest but when I go through to booking my credit card isnt accepted for some reason, and when I go through again the price has gone up.
I am going to Spain to see my sister in law in July, I found a hotel/flight package but it worked out about £100 cheaper if I booked the hotel and flight separately, I booked the hotel, went to Monarch to book the flights (they were doing a 'sale' up until midnight Thursday) it was well before midnight but it had already gone up £10 per person, as there are 4 of us it was £40.
It then did the card not accepted thing and when I went back through it was £100 more!
I booked it as I was worried that I'd booked the hotel and being in the school holidays I might then not get flights, but it ended up £140 more than their original quote and £40 more than if I'd booked the package with the hotel.
My Daughter lives in Germany and came over last week the same thing happened to her, when I phoned my SIL she said they did the same to her!
Are they deliberatly missleading people?
I don't want to log a complaint if its co-incidence, but if they are ripping people off they need their wrist slapped, anyone got any experience of the same with them?
Thanks

Personally, due to having read a few problems about booking online, I would find the price and then call up to book, I'm sure if pushed they'd let you have it at that price, just keep the info up on the screen as you telephone.
I booked a holiday package, flights through Monarch (no problems with booking) but their seats are notoriously small!! So just a word of advice I learned, you can ask to upgrade on the plane, for a small amount if there are spare seats - only learnt that on the return journey!! And definitely one to remember!!
Sorry I can't help you with your current problem, I'd try phoning up and see what they had to say?I love surprises!0 -
