Backdating can take a while! I was on Incapacity Benefit until they stopped it on 15th November as they decided I was fit for work. I appealed and had to go onto the reduced rate of Income Support pending appeal. My appeal was on 8th March, which I won. I am still waiting for the backpayments! On Thursday I rang and asked where the back payment was again - have been on at them for a bit as it amounts up - and it was on their desk and they would get is sorted. On Saturday - 1st April - I got a giro for about 10% of what they owed my, then yesterday a giro for almost same amount! I rang to query rest of money and they said rest would be another week or so at least and would go straight into my account - they will have had well over a month to get the money to me from me winning the appeal!

The thing I am saying is - they can be quite useless but hang on in there and keep pestering them if need be!
