EGG ATM Cards

Hi
Has anyone else heard about Egg removing all ATM cards from its products by June 30th?
I ask as I have been using my savings account as a current account (as they like to complain to me about doing), as I do contract work (borderline self employed) and move around a lot and in the current financial climate cannot get another account.
Followed the advice in another threat re: basic accounts and waiting on an application with the NatWest Step Account.
Btw can employers still pay by cheque? Even in the short term (I appreciate that that question may not be best answered in this thread).
Thanks

They can if they want to, but they probably won't want to as it creates extra work. And most people would prefer a direct credit as it's quicker and less hassle.Happy New Year :beer:0
