Luxury half term for good value?????

Hi all - Just discovered this site and love it !!!

Looking for some tips.

Want to book a nice holiday for 2 adults / 2 children for May half term - got a decent budget (about £2k) but want to shop around to really get something special for that. Had a bit of a stressful start to the year and could do with a break.

Can't believe how many possibilities are coming out as £3k plus!!!!!

Soooo looking for sunshine (it will be late May) Greece?????
and a really good hotel (4+/5 *)

Does anyone know any good websites for cheap late deals (dont mind waiting till late april/early may to book).

the last time I booked a holiday like this I didnt even have a computer and did it via teletext on the tv!!!! :rotfl:

Thanks for any tips.

Which airports do you prefer, how long do you want to go for, how old are the children, do you want B+B or All Inclusive? What date do you want to leave on, 29th May onwards would be cheaper?
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.

Children are both 7 (twins). Any London airport.

Have to set off 25th/26th or 27th. May.

Dont mind what board it is (b&B/Half Board/all inclusive - dont mind)

Any thoughts of best places to look for bargains appreciated!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Why not do it yourself - Book some flights and then get an apartment

I use this SITE for rentals and so far - 3 times - haven't had any problems THis is the one I'm staying at in August.

They have places all over the workd, but there are similar websites offering the same sort of thing if you google for them.

The smaller airports - stanstead or Luton will probably be cheaper for you that LGW or LHR - just have a browse and when yo've got flights sorted, thenlook for accom - far cheaper most of the time than packages unless you have the bottle to wait it out until a week before whenthe proces will go down(probably) might not guarantee it's where you want to go though.

We're also going to Elounda in Crete and bf then wanted to go but no vacancies left and that's in term time, June!!

    Hi kizzie1,

Try the http://www.ownersdirect.co.uk/Greece.htm for villas too - we went to Turkey last year - fantastic.
Or if you would rather the made up package try either http://www.tapestryholidays.com/search/availability/ (they are fantastic - really take care of you...can't praise them enouth). Or http://bookings.kosmar.co.uk/forms/new/late2.asp?action=Search#results - just put your info in. Not travelled with Kosmar but friends have and they have a good reputation for Greece holidays.

We've been to Cephalonia and love the place and can highly recommend it (as long as you don't mind hills!!!)
  • a lot of the holiday brochure prices used to be very similar for whit week and school summer holidays. easyjet from liverpool to mallorca are often more expensive going at whit compared to summer school holidays ( however the hotles will be a lot cheaper )

  • Hi. I am spending halfterm in Croatia, which should be warm, I have booked a 4 start hotel with spa, several pools, lots of stuff for kids, private beach....Total including half board, transfers, in flight meals etc etc is £605, for me, partner and baby. That was through airtours. If you want real luxury then try Taba in Eygpt on the Red Sea Riveria - absolutely amazing, I stayed there last year in December and it was £700 for everything, bit chilly in December, definately warm in may, real luxury hotel, great snorkelling but cant say what your twins would think, although they did have quiet a good kids club - we booked through peltours. Hope that helps.
