Hi,
Anyone have any experience with Medion laptops?
Saw one advertised in the Daily Record today, although the advert was a bit vague.
Basically said "1.5Ghz processor, 15" screen, 1GB RAM, £399.99" at Woolworths.
Nearest store to me doesnt have any, but I think the one in Stirling will have. Anyway, providing this machine isnt the same as the one on the website but with more memory (I refuse to buy a VIA), are Medion laptops any good?
Cheers.

My niece bought one, its nothing flash, cheap, doesnt look the best but it works fine!

I took it to pieces for upgrade the CPU. They are quite sturdy, quite heavy.
Took me a life to get into it as it had hidden clips and fixings all over the place....
The plastic used is quite cheap looking, like the cheap plastic used in cheap cars.0 -
I've got one of these at £399 from Woolworths a few months ago. I am typing on it now!! Its great. I don't really understand all the techy ram and speed stuff but i am on it all the time via my wireless connection and its great. Fast downloads - everything i've come to expect from my PC usptairs.
I love it and would really reccommend it. Although I'm sure some techy 'experts' on here will tell you you can do better for your money!!0 -

i'm confused about the spec of this, if you look on the web site it says
Description
Combining affordability, function, and portability this Medion laptop features 256MB of RAM ( Max 1GB )
http://www.woolworths.co.uk/ww_p2/product/index.jhtml?pid=50616022
does not mention wireless built in or anything
for build quality and price the Dell Inspiron 1330 at £349 is a better deal if the Medion only has 256mb Ram
I'll wander into woolies tomorrow and let you know the true specEx forum ambassador

The advert in todays paper DEFINATELY stated 1GB RAM, plus the picture of it was totally different. (And I presume the photo was accurate as the two Medion desktops advertised are in my local store)
Think I will see if the Stirling store has it in, but if the processor is that horrible VIA then I will look for an Acer or something, maybe hold out for a refurbished Compaq0 -
