MFI - Guaranteed xmas delivery

Against better judgement we orderd 2 leather sofas from mfi on 1st Nov, and were guaranteed delivery by xmas.
In this last week I have been in contact with them and the carrier several times as I was getting a bit concerned the closer we got to xmas.
Today I have been told they will be delivered in 2-3weeks!!
How can they do that after they've boasted in their adverts even right into December - order now and we guarantee xmas delivery??
How can they do that, are we the only ones?
We are severly disappointed and very angry and now we have no sofas over xmas and the new year!

Get back onto them and tell them that they are in breach of contract. their adverts have clearly stated pre xmas delivery, as have any in store signs, whether they have put that in writing or not. Tell them that unless they deliver the goods in a satisfactory condition before xmas, then the contract is no longer valid and you want a refund in full.
then order them in the January sales. Better still, order some from a different shop. ;D*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Yaahhhhhhhhh, don't get me started on MFI!
The January just gone we ordered and paid for - in full - a brand new kitchen. They told us it would be delivered in March. Well, part of it was delivered in March and the rest in dribs and drabs and we finally got the last part in September, which still hasn't been fitted - I can't believe it almost a year later.
There was stuff missing, parts damaged and duplicates of parts we already had. I lost count of the amount of times either me or my husband had to stay home and wait for things to be delivered that either didn't arrive or something arrived, but we already had it.
We made loads of phone calls and sent letters and eventually we took the duplicates back to the shop, whereupon they told us that we would have to take them home, phone some number and wait in for them to be collected as they had nowhere to put them in the shop. I point blank refused to stay in again for them not to turn up as had happened several times before and suddenly he found room for them.
Customer service does not exist with MFI (not in my experience anyway)You never know how far you can fly, till you spread your wings.0 -
There's a thread on the shop but dont drop board with advice on what to do if goods dont arrive for xmas.
Good luck.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
