How much do you have to earn to get a credit card?

I've got a credit card and want to do a balance transfer onto another one to freeze the interest until I can pay it all off. The only thing is, I'm not sure that I earn enough to get a second credit card. Does anyone know how much you need to earn to get a second criedit card, or know what the vague parameters for getting one would be?

Thanks! :D

you need to earn a salary or have a partner salary to include. If you have good credit then no harm in going for one - Tesco don;t care what you earn if that helps and are easy(ish) to get....

Cheers. I'm trying to figure out how much I would need to be earning to get one with a fairly decent balance transfer rate. I'm not sure if there is any way of telling without an insider knowing waht their credit parameters are. Thanks anyway! :D

It won;t work on salary - the limit is usually based on income/expenditure/liabilities but the apr is based on risk.

To be honest, most card issuers will offer a 0% or some incentive to join, especially BT's so just try any and put the real income down, if you have a partner then you include theirs (only within the household income section).....

No insider would know credit parameters, they are hard coded into the system and cannot be broken down otherwise ex employees could milk the system (and the bank). It is not that simple...

The Post Office Classic card requires a minimum salary of at least £8,000 per annum.

Most other balance transfer credit cards are aimed at £10,000 pa plus ;)
