Check in the previous night.

I am flying with a party of 10 from Gatwick with Easyjet. The flight departure is at 08:20 and we are staying overnight at an airport hotel.

The booking confirmation from Easyjet states:-
The flight you have booked leaves London Gatwick before 08.30 (GMT). You can check in for this flight the night before from 20:00; this will give you the opportunity to leave your baggage at the airport. You will be issued with a boarding pass so you can go straight to security for your flight the following morning.
.
Has anyone done this and, if so, is it worthwhile? Does it mean that we could turn up at say 07:30, rather than 06:30?

Thanks.

I would aim for 07:00, gatwick is very busy in the mornings, even the shuttle buses from the hotels need to get through the traffic!

You would have to take your overnight hotel stuff on the plane as hand luggage though.

I'd not considered that. I have not flown from a major UK airport before.

I'd thought of this one. For me it's just a case of clean socks/underwear but the others may have a different idea.

The only advantage I can see is that trying to shift 10 people will be easier without luggage. I'm not even sure that we will all get on the hotel bus as it is not bookable.
