Laptop wont connect to wireless network - Help!

Have you got the driver loaded?
Does Device Manager (is it Control Panel -> System -> Device Manager?) show the device there?
Are there access controls set up on the wireless router?0 -
i dont know if the driver is loaded? how would i check?
the device does not show at all in device manager...
and again i have no idea how to check if access controls are set up... sorry
i dont know if its worth mentioning that this isnt a new connection, it has been working fine now for over 2 years and has suddenly broke...0 -

edit - the nforce controller is for the wired lan port on the laptop

So its a HP, DV Model Type and something that has been working but now doesn't and this is a part that is part of the MOBO.
Is there an option in the BIOS to enable/disable the wireless controller?0 -

Under devices what do you have listed under Network Controllers?
also has anyone been "playing" with your laptop who could have deleted anything?0 -
there is nothing called network controllers, there is network adapters? under which there is 'NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller' which is working, but somebody earlier said this is the wired LAN, so im assuming there is no icon for the wireless...0

Thats the right place, hmmmm exactly what model number is the laptop as there are a few variants of the 6000 line?
Could be that the wireless adapter is fubar0
