I may be wrong here, but thought it had to be to 16 hours minmum before someone with kids could claim working tax credit?

Well he got the job starts monday its 13 and half hours a week £91.00.
Now we get £130 per week income support, which inckudes the carers premium, so what will happen.

The JCP will disregard £20 pw because you're entitled to a carers premium.

So with the Carers Allowance your weekly income would then be £124.10 which is CA of £53.10 + wage of £71.00 (because of £20 disregard). It will be topped up with IS to what the law says you need to live on which is £130.45 pw.

Because you are still in receipt of IS you'll get all the passported benefits which goes with this.

So all in all you'll be better off by £20 pw.
