My nephew just turned 16 and wants to work full time during the Summer. His parents (with whom he lives) currently receive working tax credit and child benefit etc (for younger children).
Can anyone tell me whether or not his parents' social security entitlements would be affected by him earning an income?
Thanks for your views...
PS.. i should say that - in case it's relevant - he intends to start 'A' levels later this year...

If he's staying in education, his parents' CB and CTC credit are unaffected, regardless of anything he earns or pays them.0

I am no expert on Chb and WTC but when I asked about this I was told the limit was 24 hours per week before it effected the Chb and WTC. I would certainly be interested to hear from someone whose child has worked over 24 hours per week and if it did effect their Chb and WTC.0 -

The criterion is whether he's still a full time student, not the number of hours he works.0 -

Yep, I've been told the same!
So long as they are a full time student, and he will be if he is due to start in September, they do not count any income they may earn.0
