Is this seller for real?

I have a seller from USA, auction finished on: 10th Dec I state payment after 5 days etc....

He has sent me an email saying that he is ill etc and needs more time! He says he is an 83 year old man and has to have operations etc

I am happy to give more time but don't wanna be scammed!!

What d'ya think?

Your post is a bit confusing, do you mean a buyer from USA.

These things are always a bit worrying. I would give it 7 days and then go through ebay's non paying bidder process. This will get things moving if he genuinely intends to pay.

I would tell him first though that you sympathise byt due to problems you've had in the past, you will file a non paying report after 7 days (or longer if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt).

You're being fair as you stated 5 days in your auction.
  • Hello

I would take him down now, it doesn't take much effort to push afew buttons on a keyboard to pay you. he can obviously type emails.

it seems mighty strange that he has the ability to bid and search ebay and email you, but then all of a sudden is ill and cannot lift a finger or 3 to pay.

i'm sure he can do other things like walk to the loo or make a cup of tea sorry coffee.

i do not trust anybody on ebay, i reckon he is trying it on.

    and lol again ;D ;D
  • He could well be telling porkies - but at least he has emailed you.
If it was me I would (take his feedback into account) ask him when he will be in a position to pay and by what method he is going to pay and take things from there. If he does not reply or says "a month" then go down the NPB route. Though I am quite wary about using the new NPB system - it seems to really get people's backs up, despite the fact that they are in the wrong.
