Cheap flight to the East coast?

2 adults and 4 kids from London to Dulles (Washington) during August!

Tough deal I know but we need to go at this time. I was originally quoted just under £300 but this has now shot up to £600 for each person.

Smart, cunning brilliant ideas would be most welcome!

Thanks-
Catherine

    Hi.

Prices will generally be high(ish) in August, but use travelsupermarket.com to find the best price.
Also, be aware that changing the day you fly/come back will alter the price. Generally speaking, flying midweek will bring the lower prices.
Also, ... if your not too bothered about connecting flights, it may be cheaper to fly into a "hub" with one of the major US carriers and then get a connecting flight into DC.
    Hope that helps

Have you looked at flying into Baltimore rather than Dulles? Sometimes flights there can be cheaper.

Out on 22/23 back on 30/31. Any Good?
If you look on http://www.airmiles.co.uk click on the BA dealfinder link and you can look at the whole of August. It gives the prices in Airmiles only and the if you select dates you can select different combinations of miles and cash through to cash only.

How does £2166 for all of you sound? If this is of interest try ebookers.com United direct flights.

I presume you have tried using traveljungle and travelsupermarket for finding flights?
