Best way to get a car for just a few months

I've ordered a new car which isn't due to arrive until 1st September at the earliest. I'm taking the cash allowance from work, so need to have a car in the meantime. Can anyone give me some ideas on what would be the cheapest way to do this? I could buy an old banger (but has to have MOT, recent service and tax, so won't be cheap), I could do a short term lease or I could do a long term car hire. Does anyone have any tips?

My first tip woud be to speak to Enterprise.Ive always been really impressed with the service theyve given me and ALWAYS come out cheapest.

I personally wouldnt buy a banger, if nothing else youll have to pay to get rid of it as well! Plus breakdown etc.
Im looking at leasing at the moment but more long term 18ms plus, depends what you want/ need , looks like you have to play fwith the figures, but im minded to think long term car hire will be cheaper than leasing. Leasing seems to get cheaper the longer you have it- but much longer term.

PLus youll get quidco on car hire too :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

My mate bought an old rover for £50 with 8 months MOT and had it for a couple of years. He eventually sold it with a burt clutch 2 years later for £40!!!
Old bangers are the way to go!
