You might want to look at the various second-hand (and occasionally new) Toshiba laptops from Morgan Computers. See the left-hand sidebar for screen sizes.

i have just bought the following

    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/164845

Fits your needs well (I think) apart from the webcam. 4GB RAM Bluetooth and for less than £400 you get a 2 year warranty also.

Had mine for 3 months and its going well.

Not too fussed about the graphics card as I probably won't be using it for gaming.

It's mostly going to be for web browsing, so want something that will be good for iplayer, skye, music downloads, possibly movies as well.

I will be using it for work but probably nothing much more complicated than using office and a bit of photo editing.

Also need to be able to burn cds and dvds but not really fussed about blue ray.

If you're using it mainly for web browsing/skype/iplayer, something like the ebuyer one suggested should be more than adequate. You can certainly spend a good bit less than £500...
  • I'm afraid I don't have any advice as far as which model to go for, but Toshiba offer a 3 year warranty and if you can decide quickly, Toshiba are offering your money back (and a repair) if your laptop breaks within 3 years of purchase. This ends at midnight on 30th June though.

Have just been chatting to a friend who has just bought a dell and says it's really terrible for overheating!
I had heard this was a problem for dell in the past but thought it had been fixed. Anyone else hear about recently problems with this?

Also another of my friends has an Acer and he says it's very reliable but normally I've not heard much good things about Acer.

This is where my confusion stems from! How do you know which one is going to last?!

I have had 2 dells and both have got VERY hot in use but I thought it was just where I use it a lot lol
Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.
