Credit Report Question

in Credit cards
So I checked my credit report rating today for the first time but in all fairness Im a little unsure to what something on there means.
I had a debt with Barclaycard for x amount. I missed some payments then low and behold the very friendly and charismatic people at First Credit Ltd bought my debt. I then paid the debt off with them (missing a few payments on the way) but now when I go onto my credit report it says that the account is in Default and for amount due it just says satisfied.
Does this mean that I have paid it off and it just stays on my account due to the defaulted payments or are they saying I havent paid it back yet? Any other money I have borrowed in the past is clearly shown as fully paid on the report.
I know a lot of people have had a lot of problems with !st Credit Ltd from what I read on here so I just want to be sure that this is correct and they arent being their usual selves.
Thanks in advance & apologies if this is in the wrong area of the forum!

What you describe shows lenders you had a default and paid it. It will still affect you for the next 6yrs though.
Don't expect to be accepted for credit anytime soon, a paid default is as bad as an unpaid default....

Its cool Im not really looking for credit. I just wanted to make sure that 1st Credit Had notified them that I had paid due to what I had read on here about their general evilness. Dont want a letter in about 4 years telling me I need to pay back something I already have.0 -
If you don't want credit than you have nothing to worry about. But for the moment what you are asking is needed to asked at them. They can only assure you. Please check your situation with them or you might face some problem.0

Hi Dan,
Sorry I can't answer your questions directly, but I would strongly suggest you keep our paperwork from the debt collection form for 6 years.
You presumably got some kind of receipt showing you paid (or if not have some form of payment you can prove like a bank statement).
There is a limit by statute on how long you can be chased and it's 6 years.0
