Legoland in the rain?

Is my sons 6th birthday today and its teacher training day, so we thought it would be ideal to visit legoland and it might be not so busy. However its raining, is there any point going, are there bits where we can shelter if it rains heavy? do parts of it close in the rain? Quick replies please

First time I went to Legoland, it was raining in biblical proportions, I honesty expected to see an ark go past. It was quieter, and although we got wet, we still had a great day, the moving parts on the model towns weren't moving from what I can remember. Can't remember any rides being closed.

Next time we went it was a baking hot day, and we both ended up with sunstroke, I can remember both of us commenting that the summer rain day had been so much better.

Better if its raining - queues are smaller.

And you can buy a legoland poncho that they sell for use on the water rides....

We are going tommorrow, can anyone tell me if you have to lug your lunch around with you or if it is possible to pop back to the car and get it. Also is it worth doing this?

Car park is pretty close to the entrance. Even more so if you pay for premier parking.

Only trouble is the entrance plaza bit is at the top of a hill and all the rides are at the bottom of the hill. (Its fairly steep).

There is the train thing that goes up the hill but its a bit slow going back and fore. Worth it when you're knackered at the end of the day though.

You get your hand stamped if you want to go out and reenter the park. There are lockers at the entrance and down at the 'Cuddles' shop bit which is near to the water splash bit and play area. They cost a £1 which is non refundable but save on the lugging around. Some of the rides are off when it is wet.
