I agree Toto,
I am quite lucky that the people on my street all talk and look out for each other but there is not the sense of community. It's so secular.
(Whoa, English degree being out to use tonight, big words! lol)

That would be lovely scaredy, we should get together. I don't know this brown fellow but if he's cool I'm game
Seriously though, cambridge isn't too far from me. Not that I ever get trains but I think one even goes from here, so it's certainly close enough for a coffee.:A

I dont have many local friends. Maybe I'm orrible and you lot havent seen me enough to realise it yet

Yes dear. course you are.
In my imagination you lot don't live in houses, we are always in hotel rooms and bars and restaurants. Leeds was so good for me. I never thought I would do that 10km and even though I walked it I am so proud of myself with all the utter crap at work. I honestly would never have managed to keep my job and my sanity without you wonderful group of people.
so thanks guys xxx and lets look forward to Weymouth xxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

I wonder how many people actually do have loads of local friends these days. It seems people are so much more shut off from their neighbours these days.
I was watching something about the war the other day and it struck me what a community really was. I really don't think it exists now.
Not that long ago I lived in a street not unlike Coronation street....all the neighbours where in and out of each others houses on a daily basis. It was great....
At the millenium the whole street put money towards a party and we moved all the furniture out of my house and we had a party at my house, but everyone came round the day after and tidied up....Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Browns was my favourite dinner out in Cambs until hotel du vin opened anyway

Depends how near to St Albans you are Toto - theres train to P'boro then across or train to London then up - but if you near to the Hitchin line (from Kings Cross) then its direct
(I use the train too much
