Can we cancel a course agreement associated with a credit agreement

Hi - my 17 yr old son has signed up for a training course which my husband, who was present at the sales meeting, has signed a credit agreement to pay for. I would like to cancel the course (and the credit agreement) but the terms and conditions of the course enrolment form say:
"6. a student will have the right to terminate a course ... within 7 days of signing the Agreement...
Clause 6 above is applicable only to students who are not on credit terms"

Can they do that? We can definitely cancel the credit agreement, and want to know if we have a statutory right to cancel the course.

WHEN and WHERE was the credit agreement signed ? If the credit agreement was signed on the premises of the supplier of goods then there is no right to cancel the credit agreement. If the credit agreement can be cancelled then I see no reason for not being able to cancel the course. Just because the T&C's say something it does not mean it is legal.

it was signed in our back garden! in fact, since posting my question we telephoned the college and they have said (on the phone) that there would be no problem with cancelling it as it is so soon after signing.

I'm still not impressed that their terms stated that was not possible!

we have posted the formal cancellation by special delivery and cancelled the credit agreement in writing.
