Wickes shower cabins

Hi

Does anyone have any experience of the above, or if not, just the ordinary shower enclosures?

Thank you.

Sorry, I hate those things. How do you get the nooks and crannies in those jets properly clean? They just look like they have legionnaires disease as standard :o

Because of the plastic walls they just feel cheap because they're all hollow behind. And that's a lot of money for a cheap feeling shower.

Sorry, no holes barred, I hate the things.

Yes, I have A LOT of (mainly bad) experience with them (I used to sell them - I'm ex-Wickes)

And if you want my advice...

    DON'T DO IT!!!

They are very flimsy, a !!!!!! to clean properly and have a tendency to break down mid shower!

Get a normal enclosure, tray and shower and you will have a much better showering experience...
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

A big thanks to you both - just the advice I need!

Not being able to see them in the flesh, I was suspicious of the build quality due to the low price (approx £550 inc VAT).

I'll stick to a normal shower enclosure with Wet Wall or similar backing.

Are there any plumbers out there who could advise on the best type of shower walling (e.g. Wet Wall)?

I've looked at a couple of plastic honeycomb samples from another company and they look like they could scratch easily. Any thoughts about ease of fitting and durability would be great.

    Thank you.

http://www.edensteamshowers.co.uk/steamshowers.html is what i went for after dismissing the wickes options (even if i could get a huge discount through a friend)
The orginal post in this thread has a very very slim chance of being about money saving. The post is more than likely to ask a question that google could answer better than any of us.

Thanks for the link d900. A little outside my budget!
